A kuripe is a traditional indigenous applicator used in ancestral ceremonies in the Peruvian Amazon. It is a small tube, usually made of wood, bamboo, bone, or cane, shaped like a "V" or "L," which allows for the self-application of rapé (also called hapé), a fine powder made from Amazonian plants and sacred ashes. Handmade by Peruvian artisans in Cusco.
